Sharon
Murphy MIRI, HDip SPHE, Dip Reflexology has been working in the complementary
health field since 1996 and has completed post-graduate certificates in Cancer
and Reflexology, New Ideas for Reflexology and Palliative Care, Reflexology and
Colour Therapy, African Reflexology, Language of the Feet, Baby Reflex and
Teaching Happiness.
Sharon is very curious about all complementary
therapies and loves to develop her work. She has trained in many therapies
including Reiki, Aura-Soma Colour Care System, Angel Healing, Emotional Freedom
Technique, Journey work, The Artists Way, and Positive Psychology.
In 2008 she completed a postgraduate
Higher Diploma in SPHE (Social, Personal and Health Education) in Waterford
Institute of Technology. Through this course Sharon trained as a group
facilitator with a strong emphasis on personal development work.
Sharon uses reflexology as the cornerstone of
all her work, as it is deeply nurturing and balancing. However, she brings
aspects of all these others therapies into her work depending on the needs of
the particular client.
In addition, Sharon works part-time with the
Hope Cancer Support Centre in Enniscorthy, where she treats both clients with a
diagnosis of cancer, those who have recovered from their cancer, and those who
are caring for someone in their life with a diagnosis. She is delighted to have
the opportunity to nurture those who are affected by cancer in their lives.
Sharon also has a special interest in working
with parents and children. She is privileged to be able to work part-time as the
school reflexologist at Mother of Fair Love School in Kilkenny, a school for
children and teenagers with mild learning difficulties.
At Mother of Fair Love, Sharon also acts as the
Co-Ordinator for Seasons for Growth, a peer support programme for children,
teenagers and adults who have experienced significant loss in their lives,
usually due to separation or divorce in their family or due to bereavement.
